On 31 October the capital of Azerbaijan will be the venue for the key professional event in medicine - BIHE 2013, the Azerbaijan International Healthcare Exhibition. Over time BIHE has become an important meeting place for the representatives of state organisations, manufacturers of equipment and medical products, medical practitioners and specialists in the healthcare industry. The high-profile status of the exhibition is demonstrated by the support provided to BIHE since its foundation by the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This year, BIHE has managed to bring together on one platform 130 participants from 17 countries, achieving 20% growth in terms of exhibition space. Companies from Azerbaijan, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Turkey, China and other countries will during the exhibition demonstrate cutting-edge technologies that are needed and heavily in demand from the state-of-the-art healthcare sector. This year companies from Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and other countries are among the debutantes, which represent 40% of the total number of exhibitors. The Czech Republic has its own platform for the first time. The national Czech stand at the exhibition in Azerbaijan has been organised on the initiative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. Nine Czech companies will showcase orthopaedic products, laboratory equipment, health care centre-patient communications systems, rescue and emergency equipment and furniture for clinics. In general the breakdown of BIHE exhibitors looks as follows: 60% foreign and 40% local companies. The cohort of local participants is headed by leading Azerbaijani companies: Alba Group, Keshali, Labservis, Medeks, Nabucco, Caspident, Saf-Med, etc., which will showcase ultrasound-based diagnostic equipment and CAT machines, X-ray machines, respiratory equipment, laser therapy equipment, surgical instruments, laboratory technologies and equipment, dental equipment, implants, and much else besides.Manufacturers of shop fixtures and fittings for pharmacies, furniture for clinics, medical wear and software will be present at the exhibition. Manufactures and distributors from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Russia and Ukraine will showcase pharmaceutical drugs, diagnostic medical equipment, laboratory equipment, orthopaedic products and rehabilitation equipment.The BIHE 2013 exhibition offers one additional feature this year - a medical tourism sector, including approximately 15 different clinics, has been organised for the first time. The extensive display of healthcare centres will enable the exhibition’s visitors to assess and compare the wide diversity of healthcare services offered abroad. The participation of clinics and prevention and treatment facilities in the medical tourism sector at the BIHE exhibition is being organised with the support of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) and the Turkish Healthcare Travel Council (THTC).The following presentations of participants have been announced in the exhibition’s business programme: on 31 October the presentation of Czech companies will be held in the conference halls of the Baku Expo Center, while a symposium on radiology from GE Healthcare and Medeks is scheduled for 1 November. In addition, seminars and presentations will be held at company stands during the entire three days of the exhibition’s operations. Another two events will be held in parallel with BIHE – the 8th Azerbaijan International Stomatology Exhibition 2013 and the 7th Аzerbaijan International Beauty and Aesthetic Medicine Exhibition 2013.As part of Stomatology Azerbaijan 2013 the participants will demonstrate a range of oral hygiene products, dental equipment and consumables, and cutting-edge dental implant and whitening technologies. The leading companies on the professional cosmetics market will present their wares at Beauty Azerbaijan 2013. They will showcase products and technologies that are extensively used by beauty salons, fitness clubs, spas and hairdressing salons. For example, the exhibition includes the following sections: professional cosmetics, body care products, aromatherapy, equipment for beauty salons, nail care and skin care products, professional hair products, hairdressing salon instruments, accessories and consumables. The consumer will be able to view the showcased products first-hand during masterclasses, exhibition hair styling and manicure performances and skin care presentations, with the participation of leading specialists in this area. Consequently, the exhibition this year will once again become a highly effective platform for across-the-board business communications between consumers and manufacturers, which will help to identify the key development trends in the healthcare and beauty industries. The latest news from the exhibitions will be promptly posted on exhibition and social networking web sites. For the convenience of visitors, special free buses will be organised to the exhibition from the N. Narimanov metro to and from Baku Expo Center. The exhibition will close on 2 November.
