Over 18 years (1995-2013) the volume of foreign investments in Azerbaijan's economy totaled $ 83.8 billion, most of which (58.2%) occurred in the oil sector. Troika of the leading investors are companies from the UK with $ 18 billion, U.S. - $ 7 billion, and Japan - $ 4 billion. Non-oil sector was funded by the Turks - 26% of total inflows into the segment, followed by the British - 16% and the U.S. - 12%.
In Azerbaijan, there are 6,857 companies with foreign capital. The leading troika - 36% of companies with Turkish, 8.3% - with the Russian, 7.8% - with British capital. Foreign companies are actively involved in the implementation of contracted projects in Azerbaijan. So, companies of Turkey in Azerbaijan fulfilled contract works on 153 projects with a total value of $ 10.4 billion, the company from the Czech Republic - 6 projects worth $ 2 billion, the companies from France - 22 projects totaling $ 1.8 billion
Local companies (with the Azerbaijani capital) are investors of projects in Turkey, Georgia, Russia, Montenegro, Serbia, Switzerland and other countries.
