The ADEX 2014 Azerbaijan International Defence Industry Exhibition will take place in Baku for the first time from 11 to 13 September. The event will take place at the Baku Expo Center, organised on the initiative of the Ministry of the Defence Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of the Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who will also provide their valuable support. The Organisation Partners of ADEX 2014 will be Iteca Caspian and “Caspian Event Organisers” (CEO).
The armed forces of Azerbaijan have gone through significant development in recent years, with multilateral modernisation of technology and materiel and an increase in its combat capability. Azerbaijan purchases the most modern military equipment abroad as well as developing and growing the domestic defence industry. The products of the defence industry of Azerbaijan are demonstrated at global exhibitions, with the export potential of the Republic growing every year.
The decision to organise ADEX 2014 was taken due to the success of the defence industry of Azerbaijan and the interest in cooperation from major foreign companies. The debut exhibition will be the largest display of the latest international achievements and local production. The great interest towards the exhibition is shown by the fact that 170 companies from 33 countries have confirmed that they will be exhibiting at ADEX 2014. 8 National Groups from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Belarus, South Korea, Poland, Israel, Ukraine and Russia will have displays at the exhibition. Representatives of the Ministry of the Defence Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action will speak about their latest achievements and prospects for development in the National Pavilion of Azerbaijan.
Major, globally recognised companies exhibiting at ADEX will include MBDA, Thales, Damen Shipyards Group, Rostec Corporation, Rosoboronexport (Russia), Denel (South Africa), Norinco (Norinco), Bell Helicopter (USA), Flir Systems, Roketsan (Turkey), Havelsan (Turkey), China Precision Machinery Import-Export Corporation (China), UkrOboronProm (Ukraine), Yugoimport (Serbia), Paramount Group (South Africa) and many others. The Platinum Sponsor of the exhibition is Damen Shipyards Group, a company which is famous around the world for high quality shipbuilding in the military and commercial sectors.
Products presented at ADEX will include armaments, radar installations, ammunition, anti-mine systems, electronic defence systems, land, sea and air defence systems, space technologies, naval equipment and armaments, programmes for the repair and modernisation of aviation equipment, technical reconnaissance tools, telecommunications, optical electronics, engineering systems, specialised equipment, simulators and training programmes and many others.
ADEX is poised to become an important meeting place for the global arms industry and a platform for the demonstration of the military potential of Azerbaijan, the exchange of experience and discussion of defence issues. The exhibition will attract producers and buyers of armaments and military technology and serve to encourage cooperation in this field.
