SOCAR offered Libya to open a network of petrol stations under SOCAR brand names and invest capital into construction of oil refinery.
These issues were discussed at the meeting between Agasalim Shukurov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Libya, with Libyan Minister of Oil and Gas Abdurrakhman bin Yazza.
Press office of Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry reported that during the meeting the Azerbaijani side has passed the proposal to the Libyan side. The oil refinery can be either in the form of joint venture, or fully based on the Azerbaijani investments.
Shukurov also said that Libyan Minister of Oil & Gas was invited to the 19th exhibition-conference Caspian Oil &Gas 2012, which will be held in Baku in June 2012.
Libyan Minister has thanked for invitation and said that his country is interested in establishment of oil and gas cooperation with Azerbaijan. He also stressed importance of bilateral cooperation in various fields.
* At present SOCAR has over 90 petrol stations in Georgia, 26 ones in Ukraine and 14 ones in Romania.
* During April 2012 Libya produced 1.3 million barrels of oil a day, of which almost 1 million barrels was exported.
