On 28 November 2012, Baku will host the 4th Republican Exhibition of Youth Organisations, held at the Baku Expo Center for the first time. The event, held over three days until 30 November, is organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Iteca Caspian LLC.The relevance and timeliness of this event is such that it is to be held within the framework of the State Programme for The Youth of Azerbaijan 2011-2015, approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (sub-clause 6.5.8.: ‘Organisation of exhibitions, reflecting activities of youth’).76 youth organisations will participate in the exhibition, combining representatives of different groups of young people with a broad range of activities such as education, physical training and sports, youth employment, etc. The main purpose of the event is to inform the public about the activities of youth organisations, as well as the projects and programmes undertaken by them to involve young people in social work.Almost all of these organisations will present projects that have already been launched and tell visitors about the new ones set to take place. Among the existing projects are the student song contest, Univision, which aims to identify talented students; a summer university camp with an extensive education programme that covers foreign languages, lessons on technical topics, a sports programme, and also familiarisation with the Finnish, Spanish and Greek cultures; the intellectual contest, What? Where? When?, which forms part of the 3rd Youth Festival; and a vocational art training project for young people. Currently, interesting projects such as the Business Keys-2012 competition are being developed. This particular contest offers an excellent opportunity for young people from 12 to 22 years of age from low-income refugee families to learn language and computing skills, etc.For visitors, the exhibition will be an excellent opportunity to become more familiar with the work of youth organisations, to find presentations that meet their interests, and to get involved in their projects.By participating in the exhibition, youth organisations will have an opportunity to publicise themselves, demonstrate their achievements and opportunities, share experiences, improve their connections, and gain support from commercial organisations and large companies in order to develop their activities further. The exhibition will be accompanied by a business programme including seminars and presentations by exhibitors. In addition, a cultural programme and various educational activities are planned for exhibitors and visitors. The 4th Republican Exhibition of Youth Organisations will take place alongside SportExpo Azerbaijan 2012, the 1st Azerbaijan International Sport, Sports Equipment and Sportswear Exhibition. SportExpo Azerbaijan 2012 will bring together more than 50 state and private representatives of sport and the sports industry, including Azerbaijani sports clubs and federations, and provide them with an excellent opportunity to exhibit their products and services, including sports and leisure accessories, sporting equipment and sports clothing. In this way, the achievements of youth and sporting organisations will be presented in one venue at the same time. The organisers hope that the upcoming exhibition will create favourable conditions for establishing and improving contacts, and that it will make a real contribution to the development of sport and to the work of youth organisations in Azerbaijan.
