In anticipation of the summer tourism season, the largest travel industry event in Azerbaijan and the Caucasus region, AITF 2013, will take place at the Baku Expo Center from 4-6 April 2013. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan has actively supported AITF since the event was launched. It is also supported by the UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), the International Tourism Trade Fairs Organisation, AzPromo and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs’ (Employers’) Organisations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The exhibition has held UFI ‘Approved Event’ status. The show is organised by Iteca Caspian and ITE Group whose network of partners and agents around the world – including ITE London, EUF in Turkey, GiMA in Germany and ITE Gulf – has brought international participants to the event.The official security partner of Iteca Caspian’s 2013 events is SafeLife, Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel and Qafqaz Point Hotel are the official hotels, and Greenwich Travel Club is the official tour operator.This year, the fair will bring together 251 companies and organisations showcasing over 60 destinations. National groups are a key feature of AITF, and AITF 2013 will see 20 national groups at the event, eight appearing collectively for the first time: Hungary, Indonesia, Iran, Montenegro, Morocco, Crimea (Ukraine), Thailand and Tunisia.Over three days, a wide range of travel services will be presented at the show, displaying their latest offerings to eager visitors. Services include: airlines and aviation agencies; tour operators and travel agencies; hotels, health spas and companies specialising in adventure holidays, luxury tourism and environmental tourism.International airlines will also exhibit within national group stands and individually. Turkish Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Air Astana, Adria Airways, Aegean Airlines and Azerbaijan Airlines will all present themselves individually.In response to the demands of the Azerbaijani tourist, the show will feature specialised sectors, including the Holiday in Azerbaijan sector; the considerably-expanded Medical Tourism sector and the brand new Real Estate Abroad sector.The Holiday in Azerbaijan sector provides both international and national visitors with the opportunity to discover the climate, nature and diversity of Azerbaijan's regions - helping to promote the country’s vibrant destinations. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan has given its full support to the organisation of the exhibition.Leading Azerbaijani travel companies, including SilkWay Travel, Millennium Tourism 2 Congress DMC, Gilan Turizm, N-Travel and Smart Holiday, will offer a full range of holidays both in Azerbaijan and abroad.The first two days of AITF will be trade-only – allowing professionals to find out about new destinations, make contacts, and share information. The Greek company Aegean Airlines will showcase its new Baku-Athens route opening on 28 May, and Azerbaijan’s flag carrier AZAL will present a new route to Bulgaria.Over the past 12 years, the event has reflected the region’s travel and tourism trends, and has continued to be a key influence in the regions tourist industry.
