CATEF 2013, the Caspian Aqua Technologies Exhibition and Forum, will be launched at the Baku Expo Centre from 11 to 13 April 2013. CATEF, the only event in the Caspian Region for presenting the latest achievements in water technology, is organised on the initiative of and actively supported by Azersu JSC, and the organisational partner is Iteca Caspian.The major projects underway or planned in Azerbaijan, the real potential to use the latest equipment and technology in the country’s companies, and the ever-growing interest in the region shown by investors are all reasons for CATEF’s relevance.Projects are currently underway in Azerbaijan to modernise water supply and sewerage in cities, regional centres, towns and villages, as well as projects for ultra-treatment facilities in the Jeyranbatan reservoir and treatment of wastewater and rainwater, among others. CATEF plays an important role in encouraging business cooperation for these projects, and it is a catalyst for development across the industry. A successful launch is being predicted for the event, with its exhibition space allocated long before its opening.79 companies from 23 countries will exhibit at CATEF. They will present their services in the areas of water supply systems, sewerage and rainwater treatment systems, micro-tunnelling systems, measuring and regulating technology for water analysis, pumps and pumping systems, security for drinking water sources, construction machinery and equipment, drilling units, ICT, geothermal and desalination technology, and other products, technologies and services.Over half of exhibitors have come to the event from outside Azerbaijan, including Awas (Germany), DOW (USA), Duktus (Austria), Ekoton (Russia), Grundfos (Denmark), Herrenknecht AG (Germany), Hyundai (South Korea), Hungarian Water Cluster (Hungary), Krohne (Germany), Nippon Koei (Japan), Nordic Water-EMO (Switzerland), PWT (Germany), Samsun Makina (Turkey), Suez Environment (France) and Xylem (Sweden).
