BakuBuild 2013, the largest construction event in the Caspian region, will open on 23 October 2013 at the Baku Expo Center, marking the start of Caspian Construction Week. This year, the event has filled all four halls of the venue as well as the foyer and outside area.Having grown 20% in exhibition space, the Caspian Construction Week will welcome 490 companies from 32 countries, presenting the latest and most advanced construction technology and a wide range of building materials, sanitary ware and construction machinery as well as sports equipment, playground equipment and furniture items.Lighting and sound equipment for urban decor is a new sector at BakuBuild 2013. First-time exhibitors, who have chosen BakuBuild as a platform to promote their products in the Caspian market, make up 50% of the total.Participation of large national groups, supported by chambers of commerce and government bodies, are a feature of the exhibition, and this year seven such groups will participate, from Germany, Greece, Italy, Iran, the UAE, Portugal and Finland. The largest group of companies (67) is the group from the Italian cities of Brescia and Milan and the Novara province. The UAE national group, organised by Dubai Exports, is taking part for the first time, and the exhibition will also feature collective participation from Turkish businesses. The space occupied by Chinese companies has increased. Stands from the Gold Sponsor Norm, and from sponsors Holcim Azerbaijan and Emirates Steel, also added to the exhibition.The number of local companies participating have also increased this year, making up 38% of the total exhibition space. Together they will present the markets extensive local building materials and services. Regular exhibitors include; Akkord, Azbentonit, Baku Steel Company, Basf Caspian, Enilik, Holcim Azerbaijan, Gilan Holding, Matanat A, Mr. Fix and others.The outdoor exhibition space will contain leading building machinery companies Azlift, Aztexnika, Hyundai, Skyjack, Dr. Sculze, MAN, Nowitex, Original Motors, Toyota Material Handling Azerbaijan, JCB, Wirtgen, Volvo, Akkord, Prolink Caspian, HYDROKON and Hitachi, presenting machinery ranging from well-known hydraulic excavators to rigid frame dump trucks, wheel loaders, and excavators modified from working equipment.Exclusivity and innovation is a main theme of the exhibition, and this year’s new products include: unique sanitary ware, new plastic profiles, facing tiles, multi-functional insulated glazing, roofing and waterproofing materials, cabling, dry mixes, LED lamps, channels, new mobile compressors, new cement types, pervious concrete blocks, paints, various planks and boards, insulation systems, seamless pipes, advanced heat and sound insulation materials, a wide range of finishing materials, metal structures, wooden house building and much more.Thousands of trade professionals over the four days of the exhibition will be given the opportunity to learn about industry innovations, sign contracts, become partners of leading producers and distributors in the industry, and introduce the latest technology to Azerbaijan’s fast-growing construction industry. The exhibition will close on 26 October.Business programmeA regular feature of the exhibition is a packed business programme of presentations, seminars and master classes.• A business forum for Dubai and Azerbaijani entrepreneurs will run on 24 and 25 October- with organisational support from Dubai Export.• The 3rd Construction Club meeting, organised by the Caspian-European Integrated Business Club, will focus on ‘Prospects and development of the construction industry of the region’. Discussion topics will include urban planning, high-quality construction and self-regulation, developing built-up areas and protecting historic centres. Government representatives will tell the club’s members about their activities and individually answer questions on development of the construction sector and applying government standards in construction.• Several exhibiting companies will give presentations – the programme includes 14 of them, from Danfoss, Azsertservis, Smartek, Studio Bellesi Giuntoli, Axis Communications, Aereco, BASF YKS LLC, AAC, East Stream, Turk Yapı Senaye and JUNG Vilnius UAB.
